This is the road between Soy and Hotton, Belgium, facing south. As I understand it, this was an assembly point and line of departure for the 290th Regiment attackers. Once assembled, they then moved across this field toward Hill La Roumiere (in background) and assembled again on the road running east to west, between Melines and Werpin and at the base of Hill La Roumiere.
