As I understand, the men of the 290th Regiment assembled along this road in preparation for the attack up the slope to the crest of La Roumiere. This photo was taken facing east toward Werpin. The road runs between Melines and Werpin. La Roumiere is to the left in the photo. Photo taken in May of 2001. From the collection of J. Puckett
